Raw Bone Day!

We found a new butcher who will chop the bones into toy dog size pieces. Dasher was a little unsure of it at first. But he just watched Belle (who he quickly found out, he can't go near when she has ber bone) and Dora who knows they make her teeth gorgeous! Dasher is teething now so hopefully this helps.

Dasher Training

Right now, Mommy is in conformation training. Dasher seems to come to the table with all the elements- he came from an EXCELLENT BREEDER! So this part of the game, is all me learning about how to show Dasher naturally and not mess him up. This is a big adjustment for me. I am used to be the one being the trainer! But it is almost like starting off in obedience or agility. I only wish I was a blank slate! So we are just doing fun training that involves building blocks for performance later down the road. Dasher has a short attention span and my goal is to keep everything fun. It helps that if Dasher gets distracted, he knows his treat is gone cause someone else is willing! He really gets things fast. I know he is very smart but I think he also watches the girls.

Here is a short clip after about 5 mins of teaching touch! Gotta love his energy!

Happy Mother's Day

I have 3 great kids and spent the day with them. Belle and Dasher received baths too!!!

Dasher LOVES Belle

Contrary to my thoughts, Dasher immediately bonded with Belle. I was thinking it would be with Dora but who knows. Dogs tend to either love Belle or really dislike her. Maybe it is cause they are the same size. Belle pretty much ignores Dasher except she likes his puppy food, the fact he brings more chews into the house, and she loves to go on socialization trips with him! Just look what he thinks of Belle :)

Dasher meets Tori & Family

I took all 3 of the kids out to the dog park, to coldstone, and to my good friend Leslie's house. She has a Havanese and an amazing family! Belle and Dora just love going to her home! As you can see, Dasher has tons of energy then he crashes pretty hardcore. There are a few pictures of him falling asleep half on and off the sidewalks. He had a blast and was exhausted the rest of the day. Leslie's little Tori has grown up into such a black beauty. It is so hard to get photos of her to turn out though! Overall, it was a great day cause no one hardly moved when we got home!

Everything is new and so much fun!

My DH was probably right that we didnt need any more dog toys. We do have boxes and boxes that we get out and rotate and the days we do, the girls act like we are having a party. Well for Dasher, all the toys are a party. He is already finding his regulars that he grabs each time he wants to play! But he gets so excited if you walk near the kitty tent for more toys!

Dasher visits his first dog park!

At first he was very overwhelmed, he wanted mommy to pick him up and save him. Isabelle decided he was hers at this point. And he is totally allowed to be picked on and bullied but only by her. It was really cute to see her protect him from the dogs that were sniffing him or wouldn't leave him be. She is being a great big sister. Dasher does have such a big boy bark- I had to turn around and see that it was my dog barking! As you can see towards the end of the video, he was brave running across the park on his own. But then realizing how far away he was!

Not quite sure....

Dora is still not sure about not being Mommy and Daddy's only Neezer. She is curious in Dasher and has been sniffing him more. She had a really rough weekend so we are hoping to see her playing with him more this week for now it is kind of ignore him!

What a cute butt!

Mommy's Boy or Daddy's Boy???

He is an equal opportunity lover and willing to be center of everyone's attention! But so far I think he likes me best :)

Dasher's first outing!

After making sure Dora was okay, we want to make sure Dasher gets all the socialization and training he needs to be a great dog along with our other two. Dasher's first outing was just to join us on a trip to Home Depot. This store happens to be under a highway so it is very loud and noisy. He was a bit overwhelmed with all the sounds so I picked him up at first. After awhile he wanted down to sniff everything! It was pretty warm so we didn't let him walk off the side walk.

First night...

The night Dasher came home.... Jim met me down on the street and we walked him up to meet the girls (off the property like the dog books all tell you to do). They all did fine and we took them up to the house. Immediately we noticed Dora disappeared, we found her under the table rubbing her head and spinning and crying. I searched her over since she is sensitive when thorns get on her. We couldn't find anything... 3 hours later, at the ER vet, we learned what a fox tail was. Horrible plant got into Dora's ear next to her ear drum. She had to have anesthesia since they were scared if she made any moment, it would puncture her ear drum. We were so nervous for our little girl. And she is in full coat so it is crazy it could have gotten in her ear. With how many times we have taken her hiking and nothing like this ever! It has taken Dora about 2 days to recover. Just goes to show no matter how much planning and how careful you are, you can't protect them always and you can't plan everything out. We are so thankful Dora is okay.

Dasher was introduced to Belle by storm. Poor little guy- we basically came home after a 5 hour car ride and he was thrown into the house and left alone. Thank goodness he has such a great personality and came from a great breeder. When I came home he just started loving me. We had a late night and had to go back and pick Dora up from the vet at 230 am since they had so many dogs. She was still pretty out of it. We put Dasher into the crate next to our bed and not a peep. What a great dog he is!

Meet Dasher

These are from last month when I got to go meet Dasher and his fur family. Can you see why I was smitten....

It's official!!!

We have grown- Meet Dasher! He is absolutely adorable and our first boy. Dasher is a Irish Pied Havanese puppy- full of spunk and life!

Blast from the past photo!

Dora was about 10 months in this photo and Belle was about to turn 3!

Dogster!

Both Belle and Dora have dogster accounts (I honestly forgot but make sure to add them!)

Guess who is a play hound again?

Dora.... nope- Dora has always loved toys!

But Isabelle has turned into a playing monster again and she apparently has watched Dora enough to decide tug is fun. Each night we have to play retrieve (come on you know this involves chase cause that is half of the fun!), tug, and wrestle with Belle! While she ISN'T a dog, she does have fun acting like one sometimes!

What do you do on friday nights with the pups?

Could you leave them and go out?

Dear Grandma...

I am glad you and your friends loved the monkey photos!!! Mom said you had such colorful feelings on the pictures that she wouldn't share cause she knows a good dog like myself shouldn't hear that kind of language.

But I do miss you!

Love Always,
Isabelle

Orange County Pet Expo

I attended this pet expo with a few friends and it is huge! I was able to see the world's tallest dog (the black/white great dane head shot in one of the pics), a cat show (they just stand on a table!), a hairless cat that was actually cute in a way, many different animals, vendors, etc. Overall it was a great time but very warm outside! This pet expo was a lot bigger than the ones Dora and Belle have performed at- many barns of just dog stuff! But I was good and hardly bought anything- Dora and Belle have many new samples for kibble chase games though!

Belle & Dora's Special Guest & Vacation!

Isabelle had her favorite pair of hands come visit- Grandpa's. She was also spoiled with Grandma and her sharing treats! Dora like normal wasn't so sure about visitors staying at our home but by the end she decided warm laps are great no matter who they belong to!

The girls joined us on a ride up to Yosemite, hiking, and back down the coast-starting at Pebble Beach. To say they were exhausted for the next few days would be an understatement. The stroller came in handy a few times but my favorite part had to be letting Dora see snow again at Yosemite....

Tori's fun house

One of my favorite friends (Leslie!) and her big havanese (Tori is now 8 months) invited me and the girls over for some fun with her and her niece Rascal!

We miss you Auntie Hanan

P.S. Belle REALLY misses your Pan Dulce (breakfast donuts!) and Dora misses your toes!!!

Join the girls for a walk!

Here is a walk that really shows the girl's personalities. Belle loves nothing more than a walk, she loves going out and she runs her little heart out. Dora is more reserved but enjoys her walks but she loves other animals! See if you can discover Dora's new friend!

Do the girls eat?

While Belle may appear to be small, she sure eats like she has a hollow leg! Here is breakfast one morning!

Hope you had a Happy Easter!

I'm coming back!

Dora and I worked thru some things. Dora was competing and earning perfect scores before we moved out here- going thru the start line before I said okay because she loved it, then her world came crashing down-we moved to Los Angeles. I take her for lessons and she flips out. She runs under the A-frame and hides. She continues to do this each time I take her offleash or she runs back in her crate. She isn't avoiding me, she is honestly flipped out. Some suggest it is the going outdoors is too overwhelming. I had no clue but I knew it wasn't fun.

I took Dora out of agility. I felt horrible and I was really disappointed to be honest. Dora was always my great dog (of course everyone says God gave me Dora cause he had to make up for Belle) She loved to work, listen, have fun, and she loved me. But I will never force any of my dogs to do anything. So I threw Belle in Dora's classes. I did that for a few weeks and decided to bring Dora to just watch. Well she started to act like she wanted to play. When I would grab Belle she would jump all over me, then I would take her out there and she ran back into her crate. But I decided to keep taking her. We would play on jumps and just keep it totally happen. I learned even if she went offcourse, let her and keep going.

So this weekend, guess who made her full debut to play with mom. I was ready to put her away if she wasn't into it or acted scared. But if anything, she was a tunnel sucker (old Dora was the same) and hated the table (old Dora the same) but weaved like she hasn't quit doing agility for a few months! I hope my little girl is back. But wait till I tell her we are moving again

Triumphs and Distractions and Hot Dogs

Great success in the agility ring. Belle is starting to realize that we are outdoors and even though there is a million things we could be doing, we are there to do agility. We are still having issues with stable speed. Belle is either flying and not listening to me or pissed off cause I told her no to the tunnel and taking the smallest steps she can to the next obstacle. When working together, Belle and I both have a love-hate relationship. Thank goodness she is so cute. I also would like to point out, everyone tells you when you are doing agiltiy, no one watches you, etc. I would like to say, then don't get a dog as cute or as smart as Belle! Because I have countless footage of people laughing at us, smiling at us, or interrupting us. And I have the proof when the maltese runs out of the ring thankfully after our run straight to them because she knew darn well, she was the one who made the smile! Today we had a maltese family come watch at agility and for once, Isabelle decently behaved herself. She saw them, was drawn to them, and then remembered Mom was the hot dog goddess!

Who doesn't love Fashion?

Isabelle had a really big Saturday. Auntie Hanan flew in all the way from Michigan to go shopping. Isabelle being a great hostess took her to rodeo drive and the fashion district. Being a slave to fashion- Isabelle picked herself up a little number as well!

Southern Belle!

While she isn't sure if purple and orange are complimenting colors, she loves the jersey grandma sent her!!!

Missing me!

My lil girl wanted mommy to rush home and get back to her night time routine!
