Dora jump thru my arms

Dora learns a new trick! In about 3 minutes! Havanese are absolutely brilliant. Dora amazes me with how quickly she learns anything I am trying to show her. She knows jump, so I come home from work and show her how to jump thru my arms. I love this brilliant little girl! (I will skip my training session with Isabelle!)

Tiny Dog= Tiny Toy

Isabelle's favorite toys tend to be tiny size appropriate toys. I think she can run around better. These little cute toys were at Ikea for $1 a piece and she really seems to be fond of them. The only problem is when Dora (yeah she weighs all of 11lbs) gets ahold of them like she is a pit bull and then I don't like the little toys. Belle has a delicate princess bite but just sounds rough.

New Bows!

A few cute pics. The girls received a few bows that are very adorable. A little too much for everyday where but great for special occasions!

The snuggle bunny

Isabelle shows her princess ways when it comes to sleeping, you will never find her sleeping on a hard surface. Isabelle finds the softest place in the house-whether it be a pillow, a blanket left out, or even a piece of clothing left on the floor. Times like these reminds me why I love snuggling with Belle on rainy days!

When there is a monster under the covers, who are you going to call?

DORA BUSTER!

Dora loves this game before bed. She demands it! But what makes me want to keep playing is those adorable giggle sounds she makes when she is having so much fun.

Birthday Video Fun

With all the rain, we stayed inside today and played. Each of the girls received a gift bag of goodies!

Getting Presents is always fun!

Belle realizes why being little sucks!

The new chicken toy!

Why I have to buy 2 of the same toy!

My little girl turns 3 today!

My little girl is all grown up today! She has really blossomed into the sweetest dog. Unfortunately, it has been pouring rain in Los Angeles so we have had to stay inside! I will post some videos of our fun day but here are some morning photos of Dora in her birthday dress and crown!

A Puppy Size Poem

'Danielle keeps repeating it over and over again. We've been back to this
animal shelter at least five times. It has been weeks now since we started
all of this,' the mother told the volunteer.

'What is it she keeps asking for?' the volunteer asked.

'Puppy size!' replied the mother.

'Well, we have plenty of puppies, if that's what she's looking for.'

'I know...we have seen most of them,' the mom said in frustration. ..

Just then Danielle came walking into the office

'Well, did you find one?' asked her mom. 'No, not this time,' Danielle said
with sadness in her voice. 'Can we come back on the weekend?'

The two women looked at each other, shook their heads and laughed.

'You never know when we will get more dogs. Unfortunately, there's always a
supply,' the volunteer said.

Danielle took her mother by the hand and headed to the door. 'Don't worry,
I'll find one this weekend,' she said.

Over the next few days both mom and dad had long conversations with her.

They both felt she was being too particular. 'It's this weekend or we're not
looking any more,' Dad finally said in frustration.

'We don't want to hear anything more about puppy size either,' Mom added.

Sure enough, they were the first ones in the shelter on Saturday morning. By
now Danielle knew her way around, so she ran right f! or the section that
housed the smaller dogs.

Tired of the routine, mom sat in the small waiting room at the end of the
first row of cages. There was an observation window so you could see the
animals during times when visitors weren't permitted.

Danielle walked slowly from cage to cage, kneeling periodically to ! take a
closer look. One by one, the dogs were brought out and she held each one.

One by one she said, 'Sorry, you're not the one.'

It was the last cage on this last day in search of the perfect pup.

The volunteer opened the cage door and the child carefully picked up the dog
and held it closely. This time she took a little longer.

'Mom, that's it! I found the right puppy! He's the one! I know it!' she
screamed with joy. 'It's the puppy size!'

'But it's the same size as all the other puppies you held over the last few
weeks,' Mom said.

'No not size... the sighs. When I held him in my arms, he sighed,' she said.

'Don't you remember? When I asked you one day what love is, you told me love
depends on the sighs of your heart. The more you love, the bigger the sigh!'

The two women looked at each other for a moment. Mom didn't know whether to
laugh or cry. As she ! stooped down to hug the child, she did a little of
both.

'Mom, every time you hold me, I sigh. When you and Daddy come home from work
and hug each other, you both sigh. I knew I would find the right puppy if it
sighed when I held it in my arms,' she said.

Then holding the puppy up close to her face she said, 'Mom, he loves me. I
heard the sighs of his heart!'

Close your eyes for a moment and think about the love that makes you sigh. I
not only find it in the arms of my loved ones, but in the caress of a
sunset, the kiss of the moonlight and the gentle brush of cool air on a hot
day.

They are the sighs of God! Take the time to stop and listen; you will be
surprised at what you hear. 'Life is not measured by the breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away.

Welcome Home Daddy!

Late last night, my DH came home to his girls. Well Isabelle has a tradition, when Daddy comes home, he always brings her something special. When he has forgotten-short overnight trip, Belle has dug at the suitcase, won't let him pet her, etc. She is very sensitive to her expectations. Dora has never really gotten into this ritual. She will eventually play with the toy but she generally just concentrates on loving Daddy. Well of course when I grab the camera, things change!!! Can you see whose feelings were a bit hurt and I think she was telling him where to go with no toy for her!

Jerky Commercial

For those of you who have met Dora, you probably know what a snob she is- she spits out treats, only drinks bottle water, etc. Everyone laughs but seriously, this dog will starve herself if she doesn't have what she likes. I really don't do anything to make her a picky eater. She will just go without treats and eat her kibble. Usually her treats consist of steak, roast beef, liver. I have been known to save bites of my dinners for Dora :) Forget packaged treats until we found one that she likes....

To order Bailey's Jerky for your dog Just tell them Dora sent you!

Puppy Visit

Today, I went to visit puppies- 4 week old havanese puppies that are adorable. You can see the mom and father in the photo. Bailey is a very adorable and spunky Havanese with the biggest coat I have ever seen! Obviously, you can see my from my face I loved the puppies!

Sunday Walk @ Claremont

This Sunday we decided to walk around the Villages/Colleges of Claremont. We took the convertible and boy was that nice-78F in January (for all you midwestern folk!) The girls were so excited, Isabelle was non stop crazy. She is so cute, she sleeps in the crate on the way there to soak up all the energy to use when we finally arrive. Dora just lays down and sniffs around, she is just much more calm in nature. When we got there though Dora was so excited to be out and about. She does the most adorable hop when she is excited. Belle was running around like a nut. No one would know she is an obedience dog. She is as far as the leash will let her. She does the cutest thing when she likes a place-she rolls around in the grass so she can remember it later (at least that is what I like to pretend!) We even found a picnic table and had some lunch (girls included!) But my favorite moment was when we were approaching the car. Daddy went to grab Belle to put her in the crate and she tried running away so she didn't have to go! It was a great Sunday so much that no one wanted to get out of bed Monday morning!

A little too excited

Isabelle works herself up so much when she knows we are leaving the house. She does whatever she can to make sure she has an invite. I was actually getting together the dog bag (all of you with dogs know what I am talking about here- water, bags, hair ties, etc). Someone was so excited and wanted to make sure she was included that she found a bag and got into it. How she gets herself into here, I have no clue. But she wanted to make sure she was included!

Cruising with Daddy!

Gorgeous Girl!

Dora looks so good after a grooming (and Alicia- I know I still can't trim paws ) Too bad it doesn't last, with the rain, with her determination to get the hair clip out. I captured it for a second here though!
